Bangladesh is home to diverse and ecologically important forest ecosystems, including the Sundarbans mangrove forest, hill forests of Chattogram and Sylhet, and inland sal forests. These forests are not only vital for environmental protection — including carbon sequestration, soil conservation, and climate regulation — but are also home to rich wildlife including the Royal Bengal Tiger, deer, monkeys, wild boars, pythons, birds, and many endangered species.
Unfortunately, these forests and their animals are under severe threat due to deforestation, illegal logging, land encroachment, poaching, climate impacts, and lack of awareness. Forest degradation not only harms biodiversity but also affects the lives of communities who depend on forest resources for survival.
Kachua Dalima Association (KDA) is committed to protecting forests and forest animals through community-based, sustainable, and inclusive conservation efforts.
