The Culture and Sports Program of Kachua Dalima Association (KDA) is designed to empower youth, preserve cultural heritage, and promote social inclusion through creative expression and physical engagement. In rural and underserved communities, especially in areas affected by poverty, displacement, or climate vulnerability, cultural and sports activities play a critical role in uniting people, building confidence, and reducing violence, isolation, and discrimination.
- Organizing village-based cultural festivals, folk music and dance competitions, drama, poetry recitals, and storytelling sessions.
- Documenting and preserving traditional practices and indigenous knowledge.
- Involving elders, women, and local artisans to lead workshops and events that celebrate local identity and history.
- Arranging football, cricket, volleyball, kabaddi, and traditional sports tournaments for boys and girls.
- Conducting physical education sessions and inter-school competitions to promote health and discipline.
- Training local coaches and volunteers to lead inclusive sports initiatives for youth.
- Using theater, song, and street performances to raise awareness on key social issues such as gender equality, early marriage, drug abuse, child labor, and climate action.
- Promoting peacebuilding and social cohesion through community-led games and cultural exchanges.
- Building leadership skills among youth through organizing committees, training camps, and peer education.
- Encouraging participation from marginalized groups, including girls, youth with disabilities, and ethnic minorities.
Kachua Dalima Association (KDA) seeks the generous support of donors, INGOs, NGOs, foundations, and government agencies to scale up this vital program across its target districts. With limited infrastructure and access to recreation in rural Bangladesh, especially in vulnerable communities, your support can:
• Provide safe and inclusive spaces for youth and children to grow, express, and connect.
• Enable cultural preservation and intergenerational learning.
• Reduce risky behaviors and increase resilience through structured activities.
• Promote sustainable development goals (SDGs), especially related to education, health, gender equality, peace, and community well-being.
We welcome partnerships to provide funding, equipment (e.g., musical instruments, sports kits), technical support, and mentorship for local volunteers. Together, we can invest in a future where youth are empowered, cultures are celebrated, and communities thrive in unity and peace
