CLIMATE CHANGE PROGRAM
Bangladesh is highly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change, including rising sea levels, frequent floods, cyclones, and droughts. These challenges threaten food security, livelihoods, and the well-being of millions, especially in rural and coastal regions. Kachua Dalima Association (KDA) recognizes the urgent need to respond to this crisis. As a grassroots organization working across several climate-affected districts—such as Bhola, Jamalpur, Khulna, Cox’s Bazar, and Kurigram—KDA is committed to promoting climate resilience among marginalized communities. Through awareness programs, sustainable agriculture, climate education, and environment-friendly livelihood support, KDA empowers vulnerable populations—particularly women, youth, and farmers—to adapt to changing climate conditions. The organization also advocates for local environmental conservation and disaster preparedness as part of its broader climate justice mission. KDA aims to build a greener, safer, and more resilient future for Bangladesh through community-driven action.
KDA operates in climate hotspot districts like Bhola, Jamalpur, Khulna, Noakhali, Cox’s Bazar, Kurigram, and Sunamganj–areas severely affected by floods, river erosion, and cyclones.
KDA prioritizes climate support for poor, rural, and marginalized communities—especially women, children, and persons with disabilities—who are the most affected.
Promotes climate-resilient livelihoods (e.g., salt-tolerant crops, duck farming, tree plantation) to reduce poverty and enhance local sustainability
Conducts grassroots campaigns and school-based programs to raise awareness about climate risks and local adaptation strategies.
Encourages youth-led environmental action and women’s leadership in climate response, especially in coastal and disaster-prone areas.
Supports communities with early warning systems, emergency kits, and training on disaster risk reduction (DRR).

Engages in participatory climate research and policy advocacy to represent local voices in national dialogues.
Works with local government, NGOs, and international partners to scale up climate resilience and secure funding for climate justice.
KDA envisions a sustainable, inclusive future where rural communities are equipped to face climate change with dignity and hope.
