Renewable Energy final
RENEWABLE ENERGY PROGRAM
Target Areas:
Bhola, Khulna, Barguna ,Mymensing,Jamalpur ,Rangpur,Satkhira, Kurigram, Noakhali, Sunamganj, and other vulnerable regions
Program Overview:

Kachua Dalima Association (KDA) is launching a comprehensive Renewable Energy Program to improve energy access, reduce environmental impact, and empower vulnerable rural and coastal communities in Bangladesh. The program addresses energy poverty and climate vulnerability by promoting clean, decentralized renewable energy technologies, focusing on solar power, biogas, and improved cookstoves.
Through this initiative, KDA aims to enhance livelihoods, improve health outcomes, and strengthen climate resilience, with a particular focus on women’s empowerment and youth participation.

Key Components:
Solar Energy Soluation-3
Solar Energy Solutions:

Installation of solar home systems, solar lanterns, and community-based solar mini-grids to provide clean, reliable electricity for households, schools, health centers, and small businesses. Solar energy reduces dependence on fossil fuels and enhances energy security in off-grid and climate-affected areas.

Bio gas
Biogas Energy for Cooking and Agriculture:

Promotion of household and community biogas plants that convert organic waste and livestock dung into clean cooking fuel and organic fertilizer, reducing reliance on firewood and fossil fuels.

ICS-1
Improved Cookstoves( ICS) Distribution: (Running Program)
Distribution and user training on energy-efficient, low-smoke cookstoves that reduce indoor air pollution, fuelwood consumption, and associated health risks, especially benefiting women and children.
Capacity building-1
Local Capacity Building:

Training for women and youth on installation, maintenance, and entrepreneurship related to renewable energy technologies, creating green jobs and fostering local ownership.

Climate change-2
Awareness & Climate Education:

Community campaigns and school-based programs to raise awareness about the benefits of renewable energy, environmental conservation, and climate-smart practices.

Target Groups:
• Rural off-grid households, especially women-led families
• Youth and local entrepreneurs
• Schools and rural health facilities
• Smallholder farmers and micro-businesses
Expected Outcomes:
• Clean energy access improved for over 10,000 people
• Significant reduction in household carbon emissions and indoor air pollution
• Enhanced livelihoods and economic opportunities through green jobs
• Empowered women and youth as clean energy champions
• Strengthened climate resilience and environmental sustainability
Strategic Alignment:

The program supports Bangladesh’s national renewable energy goals and global commitments under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 7, 13, and 5), contributing to a sustainable and inclusive green transition.

KDA’s Strengths:

With years of grassroots engagement and a focus on gender equity and climate adaptation, KDA is uniquely positioned to implement this program through community trust, technical partnerships, and local capacity building.

Appeal for Assistance:

To successfully implement this vital Renewable Energy Program, Kachua Dalima Association earnestly appeals to development partners, donors, government agencies, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives for technical and financial support. Your valued assistance will enable us to deliver clean, affordable energy solutions to thousands of underserved households, promote sustainable livelihoods, and contribute to climate resilience in Bangladesh’s most vulnerable regions.

Together, we can empower communities, protect the environment, and build a sustainable future.
